Mini Irish Doodles About Us

The Mini Irish Doodle

The Mini Irish Doodle is a hybrid of an Irish Setter crossed with a Miniature or a Moyen Poodle. The Mini Irish Doodle was originally bred for service and therapy.  These puppies are desired by many because of their non-shedding and hypoallergenic characteristics.   With the background of both breeds coming together, they are extremely trainable, love the water, love to play, and have an excellent temperament with children and other animals. Although they do love their play time, they are also very social dogs and love to cuddle and just relax as well. Our Mini Irish Doodles are all red, some lighter and some a darker shade of red. Our breed is more likely to be non-shedding and hypoallergenic than other counterparts.

About the Poodle

About the Poodle  Considered to be the national dog of France, the Poodle originated in Germany as far back as the Middle ages. Taking its name from the German word pudeln, which means "to splash in water", the Poodle was once exceptional at retrieving ducks from the marshes. The versatile Poodle is among the most intelligent and capable of breeds. It is easily trained and thus remains a popular family pet to this day.  The Poodle has a beautiful coat that is single layer and completely non-shedding. Poodles can be black, red, white, apricot, brown, cream, silver or blue, and may be a combination of these colors. They require brushing a few times a week, plus clipping and shaping every 4-6 weeks.  The responsive, full-of-personality Poodle is a talented dog in all social arenas. It loves children, gets along well with other animals, and is easy to obedience-train. One thing Poodles do require is plenty of exercise. There are three types of Poodles, the Standard, Miniature, and Toy - the Standard and Miniature belong to the non-sporting group and the Toy belongs to the toy group.   Height: Moyen 15-20 in./ 13-23 cm  Weight: Moyen 20-30 lb/ 12-14 kg  Grooming: Medium-high  Exercise: Medium  Lifespan: 10-13 years  About the Irish Setter  Highly energetic and friendly to the core, the Irish Setter is believed to have originated in Ireland in the 1700s. The Irish Setter was bred to hunt birds, identifying the location of prey for hunters by sitting down. This outgoing, effervescent dog loves to play and run and usually lives a long, hearty life.  The Irish Setter is most recognizable by its coat, which is shinny, deep mahogany red, feathering around the ears and across the underside and legs. Brushing and combing several days a week and trimming every three months are necessary to keep the coat in top condition.  Irish Setters enjoy interacting with people, children, and other animals, proving them to be among the most sociable of dogs. Obedience training should begin early in life to engage the Irish Setter's attention, as this breed has a tendency to become distracted. Irish Setters require ample exercise and room to run free. They generally do not make good watch dogs due to their friendly nature.

THEY ARE GOING FAST SO GET YOUR ORDER IN TO GET CHOICE

WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH YOUR NEW PUPPY?

Your new puppy will come with a full lineage, registration papers from the American Canine Hybrid Club, registration papers and bar code number for your already micro-chipped puppy. He/she will have their first set of shots (canine distemper, canine hepatitis, adenovirus cough (kennel cough), parainfluenza, and parvovirus) deworming and shot records to indicate this. A stuffed animal rubbed down with mamas scent will accompany your puppy to help with the transition, along with a small bag of food (for transition purposes), treats, a collar and leash, and a Health guarantee. If your puppy will be flying, a health certificate and crate are included as well.

2 Year Health Guarantee

We take great pride in our parent dog selections, and we are confident that they will produce healthy, happy puppies. All of our puppies come with a 2-year genetic health guarantee. We guarantee that your puppy will not have life-threatening, crippling, and/or disabling congenital (genetic) health defects or we'll replace your puppy free of charge. We do our best to provide puppies that are hypoallergenic, non-shedding, and that have a "doodle" appearance. Sometimes, a puppy may take more after the Irish setter or the Poodle, which may affect these qualities. This does not impact the health of the puppy, and is therefore not covered under our contract and health guarantee. Please see a copy of our Contract and Health Guarantee for full details.

Free Microchip

We are a strong advocate of the microchip, and each of our puppies goes home with a microchip. A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice, and could save your puppy's life. The microchip is inserted with a hypodermic needle between a puppy's shoulder blades in a process that is described by our veterinarian as no more painful than a flu shot. It works something like a bar code, and is an invaluable tool in reuniting lost pets with their families. There is no fee for the chip. Your only responsibiity is to register the chip in the PetLink database. We recommend having your pets scanned regularly to be sure the chips are readable, and would emphasize that you remember to register the chip and make sure the registry information is kept up-to-date when you move or transfer ownership of your puppy.

Puppy Shipping and Delivery

We ship nation wide via air. The cost usually ranges from $300 - $400 for this service. This covers the cost of the crate, the veterinary health certificate, and the airfare itself. Another option is to come to North Carolina and take your puppy home. Both ground and air transport are good options and depends on where you're located as to the best choice. For cross-country deliveries, we would recommend air delivery so the puppy goes from our home to yours within 1 day.
